Today, 21 September Guillermo Larraín Ríos tendered his resignation as Chairman of BancoEstado to the Minister of Finance; this resignation will become effective on 30 September.
The President of the Republic accepted Larrain’s resignation, mentioning his valuable contributions to the bank, especially his leadership of the Crece Mujer Emprendedora” (Businesswomen: Grow programme and the progress made in the financial inclusion of the country’s micro-enterprises.
BancoEstado should like to thank Guillermo Larraín for his commitment to the institution, where he was one of the creators of the Bank’s strategic projects for the period 2014-2018.
President Bachelet appointed economist Jorge Rodríguez Grossi as Chairman, who will take on his duties this coming 1 October.
Rodríguez Grossi holds a degree in Commercial Engineering from the University of Chile, and an MA in Economics from Boston University. He has extensive experience in the public sector, having held posts like Undersecretary of Finance and of Regional Development, Energy and Mining; and chairman of the state Railway Company. He was also a member of the Banco Estado’s Governing Body during 2010-2014.
