BancoEstado obtained a "Seal of Quantification" of the HuellaChile Program
“HuellaChile” is a free and voluntary program run by the Ministry of Environment, through which participating companies and organizations can quantify, report and manage their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, thus contributing to the reduction of the country's emissions. The acknowledgments according to the level reached confirm the GHG management carried out during the year or period defined by the organization.
This year, the BancoEstado Corporation began its participation in the Huella Chile Program, whose objective is aligned with the Corporation's Sustainability Policy, as well as with the guidelines adopted by the Republic of Chile on this matter.
As a result of this participation, BancoEstado obtained a "Seal of Quantification" of the HuellaChile Program, recognition that was delivered last November.
This first year the institution had the participation of its companies BancoEstado, ServiEstado, CajaVecina and Microempresas, seeking the generation of knowledge and internal competences in GHG, climate change and, especially, on measurement of carbon footprint (systematization of the calculation and registry of corporate emissions). Subsequent to a verification process, the corporation achieved the aforementioned recognition.
This milestone places BancoEstado as the leader of the industry regarding commitment to the environment, since it is the first and only bank in the country that participates in this program and attains the Seal of Quantification.
